ELW Safety and Energy Upgrades
Engineering Lab Wing - All
Aral Construction and FMGT are installing heat recovery coils in the air handlers in the Engineering Lab Wing.
In an effort to minimize disruptions to your work, we will be constructing the supports inside of the remaining air handlers over the winter break.
Impact:
This will require a shutdown, which will in turn result in a loss of reliable containment for all fume hoods in the A wing and in the north end of the B wing, inclusive of B120. Fume hoods should remain closed during this period. Any vented cabinets will continue to provide reliable containment if left closed.
This work may also create experience weather-related temperature issues, making occupancy less comfortable in these spaces.
If you are planning occupying one of the affected rooms between December 28th and January 5th at 8:00 am, please reach out to me to discuss supplemental, localized heating.
