Postdoctoral fellows

Prospective Post Docs

A post-doctoral fellow (PDF) is someone who is pursuing their research after completing their doctorate. They conduct independent research, but must be supervised by a 糖心视频 faculty member. If you are interested in becoming a PDF in the school of Molecular Life Sciences your first step will be finding a Faculty member willing to supervise you.

For more information, please consult the Prospective Post Doc information page.

Current Post Docs

The Post-doctoral Fellow Handbook is the primary source of information for PDFs at 糖心视频. It compiles both on- and off-campus resources that you may find helpful as you begin at 糖心视频 and while you are here.  If you have any questions please contact the PDF administrator at postdocadmin@uvic.ca.

Funding

PDFs may be supported by internal or external funding.

If you are looking for grants for research expenses, see the resources for finding and applying for external grants. If you are applying for funding, you can contact your faculty grant officer for help with your application and to find out if an RASF is required.

For further information and more details on funding sources, please visit the PDF Funding information page.

Below are just some of the valuable resources and entities across campus that are available to Post Docs at the 糖心视频. Some offer community-building events, others have invaluable research resources, and some are just good to familiarize yourself with as a Post-Doc.
